Mercur Business Control - New support for budget, actuals and allocations at Electrolux IT
Having a
need to replace its previous solution for budgeting Electrolux IT chose a
solution based on Mercur Business Control. The reason was that Electrolux saw
the benefits of switching to a standard, scalable, user-friendly cloud
application with reduced dependency on individuals to maintain and develop the
solution.
The initial
focus of the project was to provide a solution for detailed budgeting at cost center
level as well as capex and personnel budgets. Electrolux IT chose Mercur's
cloud solution for 200 users, which enables geographically spread cost center
managers to input their budgets in different currencies and project managers to
use the project module through a web application.
After data
entry, Mercur’s central database is automatically updated and aggregated, after
which the system's capabilities for allocations and cost distributions are
engaged in the process. For comparison and deviation analysis, actuals are retrieved
from the group statutory consolidation system Aaro.
We are very pleased to have a solution in place that effectively minimizes administrative work and speeds up our processes so that our users get faster access to up to date information about how they perform against our plans.

In the next
step, Electrolux IT, together with Mercur's consultants, has implemented a
project module where users enter their project budgets and are approved through
a process that also includes email notifications from the system. Once projects
are approved, users will then be able to update their forecasts monthly and
compare them to actuals.
We look forward to our continued cooperation with Electrolux and are very pleased that Electrolux sees opportunities and benefits to implement and develop its solutions based on Mercur Business Control for new areas and needs within its organization.
